Libros Desafío forma parte de World Literature Ministries, filial de Faith Alive Christian Resources.

Nuestra historia se remonta a la segunda mitad del siglo veinte. Ya en la década de 1950, varias personas de la Iglesia Cristiana Reformada en Norteamérica y de otras comunidades reformadas interesadas en la publicación de libros y materiales en español, empiezan a materializar sus deseos publicando libros, tratados y materiales traducidos del inglés. Algunos de estos grupos llegan a establecer editorials que con el transcurso del tiempo se habrán de unir a Libros Desafío.

Las distintas vertientes editoriales de nuestra historia, The Evangelical Literature League (TELL), la Subcomisión de Literatura Cristiana(SLC), la Comisión Internacional de Teología y Educación (CITE), la línea en español de William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, Nueva Creación, y la línea en español de Friendship Ministries, Amistad, forman ahora un solo bloque editorial bajo Libros Desafío.

Los nuevos retos que trae el siglo veintiuno y los cambios vertiginosos que ocurren en todo el mundo, nos alientan a seguir con esta larga tradición editorial cristiana.

Nuestra misión consiste en servir a la Iglesia y a la sociedad, por medio de la producción de literatura reformada de alta calidad, relevante, que haga reflexionar, creativa y que transforme las vidas de los lectores.

Confiamos que Dios, por medio de su Espíritu Santo nos siga dando la visión, el ánimo y el compromiso de seguir anunciando nuestra firme vocación literaria de ser seguidores de Jesucristo,Señor de todo y de todos.

Libros Desafío is the Spanish language line of World Literature Ministries, a division of Faith Alive Christian Resources.

Our history goes back to the second half of the 20th Century. Already in the 1950s, several people from the Christian Reformed Church in North America and from other Reformed communities who had interest in the publishing of books and materials in Spanish, began to realize their dreams by publishing books, tracts, and materials translated from English. Some of these groups established publishing ministries that in time merged with Libros Desafío.

The various editorial branches of our history, The Evangelical Literature League (TELL); Subcomisión de Literatura Cristiana (SLC); Comisión Internacional de Teología y Educación (CITE); the Spanish line of William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, Nueva Creación; and the Spanish line of Friendship Ministries, Amistad; are now a single publishing block under Libros Desafío.

The new challenges that the 21st Century brings and the rapid changes around the world encourage us to continue with this long Christian publishing tradition.

Our mission is to serve church and society by producing high-quality, relevant, thought-provoking, creative, and life-changing Reformed literature.

We trust that God, by His Holy Spirit, may continue to give us the vision, encouragement, and commitment to continue with our firm literary vocation to be followers of Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all and in all.
